Keep your workplace safe by knowing and complying 2012 NFPA 70E

March 27, 2012

There are hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries on the job each year.  It is an employer’s responsibility to ensure personnel safety, yet employees must also be able to identify and address electrical hazards.  Avoid tragedies on your watch by increasing your knowledge of the NFPA 70E.  Developed at OSHA’s request, the NFPA 70E is the most widely used codebook.  It is a helpful resource in identifying electrical safety hazards in the workplace and reducing employee exposure to those potentially fatal hazards.

Werner Electric Supply has recognized the importance of NFPA 70E.  As a result, we are stocking the new NFPA 70E 2012 (Standard Edition and Workbook Edition) as well as a complete line Arc Flash PPE to make your team safe in any environment.  Additionally, we offer a detailed and expert-led seminar that will provide you the steps and skills necessary to recognize electrical safety hazards and information required for accurately performing an ARC Flash analysis.  Some of the things you will learn are:

  • What causes an ARC Flash
  • Regulations and standards
  • Methods to reduce ARC Flash, ARC Blast, and Shock Hazards
  • How to comply with NFPA 70E 2012 and OSHA requirements

Werner Electric Partners With Customers to Take Nearly 600 Cars Off the Road

March 29, 2011

A report from Focus on Energy reveals that Werner Electric Supply provided energy-efficient products for 67 projects in 2010 that received financial incentives. These projects resulted in reduced energy costs for our customers by more than $290,000. The reduction in energy consumption equals the removal of more than 3,000 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

“We appreciate your leadership in the enhancement of our economy and environment,” said Todd Hanson, Market Provider Service Rep. for Focus on Energy, in a letter to Werner Electric.

Essentially, it’s the equivalent of permanently parking 600 cars.

Werner Electric plants its roots in Kenosha, just a block from Kenosha Regional Airport.

Werner Electric Supply is rapidly making its mark in the southeast territory of Wisconsin.  In response, the company will be opening two new branches in this region.  The new buildings in Kenosha and Pewaukee will be better equipped with space to accommodate increasing inventory needs.

The new Kenosha building is conveniently located just 15 minutes from the former Racine branch.   In order to celebrate the grand opening, the Werner Electric Supply Kenosha branch is hosting an open house on September 15th.  The open house includes an Arc Flash Seminar from 1:00-3:00pm and a trade show with food to follow.  Guests are also invited to see the expanded counter area complete with new product displays.  Prizes and specials will also be part of the celebration.

Joe Cimperman, Regional Sales Manager of Werner Electric Supply states, “We really look at this as an opportunity to continually and consistently meet the needs of our customers.”  He adds, “The extra space will allow us to keep more in stock, which in turn, allows us to better serve our customers.”

For over 60 years, Werner Electric Supply has been committed to supplying customers with quality electrical products and services including industrial automation, data communication, lighting, security solutions, and safety products and services.  With over 300 employees throughout 11 locations in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Werner Electric Supply primarily serves the electrical control needs of original equipment manufacturers, the maintenance and automation needs of industrial plants and commercial buildings, and the needs of electrical contractors.
